The Renew team grows again!

We are excited to announce two new members of Renew’s research team!

Please join us in welcoming Dr Sanaz Memari and Meihan Gao.

Dr Sanaz Memari joins Renew as The University of Sydney’s Postdoctoral Research Associate. Sanaz joins us from Deakin University. With a background in architectural engineering, Sanaz specialises in the future proofing of buildings, bringing together aspects of urban resilience, maintainability, adaptability, circular economy, climate adaptive design, and user-centred design. She was awarded Deakin’s Graham Treloar Research Prize in 2022, for “the most outstanding HDR student publication in 2022 in relation to embodied energy and sustainability”.

Sanaz’s research experience comprises conducting multidisciplinary workshops, focus groups, workshops, surveys, and experiments, and she is highly skilled in designing multi and mixed research methods. She will be focusing on the development of Renew’s co-design guide and tools.

Associate Professor Sandra Löschke is also supervising a new PhD student at The University of Sydney, Meihan Gao, who is supported by a stipend from the Deputy Vice Chancellor Research. Her thesis title is ‘Memory matters – a human-centred redesign approach to improve life in apartment buildings’ and investigates collective identity, social cohesion and resilience in apartment buildings.
